Teams enable collaborative lead generation and friendly competition within your organization. Work together to dominate your market, share insights, compete on leaderboards, and achieve collective goals.


What Are Teams?

Team Concept

A team is a group of D4D users working together toward common goals while maintaining individual performance tracking.

Team Benefits:

Team Structure

Roles & Permissions

Team Owner

  • Creates and owns the team
  • Full administrative control
  • Can delete team
  • Manages all settings
  • Assigns roles

Team Admin

  • Assigned by owner
  • Manage members (invite, remove)
  • Edit team settings
  • View all team data
  • Cannot delete team

Team Lead

  • Assigned by admin/owner
  • View all team members' leads
  • Assign territories
  • Create team routes
  • Moderate team chat

Team Member

  • Standard team participant
  • Capture leads
  • View team stats
  • Participate in team chat
  • Share leads (if permitted)

Viewer

  • Read-only access
  • View team leaderboard
  • View team stats
  • Cannot capture or share leads
  • Typically for managers/investors

Creating a Team

Start a New Team

Prerequisites:

  • Active D4D account
  • Silver tier or higher (recommended)
  • Organization approval (if required)

Steps:

  1. Navigate to Teams page (/d4d/teams)

  2. Click "Create Team"

  3. Enter team details:

    • Team Name (2-30 characters)
    • Description (optional)
    • Avatar/Logo (upload image)
    • Territory (optional - assign region)
    • Privacy (Public, Private, Invite-Only)
  4. Configure settings:

    • Lead sharing rules
    • Territory assignments
    • Competition participation
    • Chat permissions
  5. Click "Create Team"

Team Created! 🎉

  • You're automatically the Team Owner
  • Invite members immediately
  • Set up territories
  • Establish team goals

Joining a Team

Join Existing Team

Method 1: Direct Invitation

  1. Receive email/in-app invitation
  2. Click invitation link
  3. Review team details
  4. Click "Accept Invitation"
  5. You're in!

Method 2: Browse & Request

  1. Go to Teams page
  2. Browse public teams
  3. Click team to view details
  4. Click "Request to Join"
  5. Wait for admin approval
  6. Notification when accepted

Method 3: Invitation Code

  1. Get code from team admin
  2. Teams page → "Join Team"
  3. Enter invitation code
  4. Auto-join (if valid)

Leaving a Team

To Leave:

  1. Team page → Settings
  2. Click "Leave Team"
  3. Confirm decision
  4. Your leads remain yours
  5. Team stats updated

Note: Team Owners cannot leave - must transfer ownership or delete team

Team Members Management

Viewing Members

Member List Shows:

  • Name & avatar
  • Role (Owner, Admin, Lead, Member)
  • Total leads captured
  • Last active
  • Current streak
  • Level & tier
  • Online status

Sorting Options:

  • By total leads (default)
  • By weekly leads
  • By level
  • By streak
  • Alphabetical

Inviting Members

Invite via Email:

  1. Team → "Invite Members"
  2. Enter email addresses (comma-separated)
  3. Add personal message (optional)
  4. Choose role (Member by default)
  5. Click "Send Invitations"

Invite via Code:

  1. Team → Settings → "Invitation Code"
  2. Generate unique code
  3. Share code via any method
  4. Code valid for 30 days (or until disabled)
  5. Track who joined via code

Invite via Link:

  1. Generate invitation link
  2. Share link (email, Slack, text)
  3. Anyone with link can join (if public)
  4. Or request approval (if private)

Managing Members

Change Role:

  1. Click member name
  2. "Change Role"
  3. Select new role
  4. Confirm

Remove Member:

  1. Click member name
  2. "Remove from Team"
  3. Confirm reason
  4. Their leads stay with them
  5. Team stats updated

Temporary Deactivation:

  • Deactivate member (vacation, leave)
  • They keep team membership
  • Stats frozen
  • Reactivate anytime

Team Lead Sharing

Sharing Leads with Team

Individual Lead Share:

  1. Open lead details

  2. Click "Share with Team"

  3. Choose visibility:

    • View Only - Team can see, not edit
    • Collaborate - Team can edit/add notes
    • Assign - Transfer to specific member
  4. Add note (optional)

  5. Click "Share"

Bulk Share:

  1. Lead list → Select multiple
  2. "Share Selected"
  3. Choose team members (or all)
  4. Set permissions
  5. Share

Auto-Share Rules:

  1. Settings → Lead Sharing

  2. Create rules:

    • Auto-share all leads
    • Auto-share by property type
    • Auto-share by location
    • Auto-share by status
  3. Save rules

Viewing Shared Leads

Shared Leads Tab:

  • See all leads shared with you
  • Filter by sharer
  • Filter by permission level
  • Sort by date shared
  • Mark as reviewed

On Map:

  • Team leads show in different color
  • Toggle team leads on/off
  • Distinguish your leads vs team leads
  • Avoid duplicate coverage

Team Territories

Territory Management

What Are Territories?

  • Geographic areas assigned to team members
  • Ensures coverage without overlap
  • Clear accountability
  • Organized prospecting

Creating Territories:

  1. Team → Territories
  2. Click "Create Territory"
  3. Name territory (e.g., "Downtown West")
  4. Draw boundary on map (polygon tool)
  5. Assign to member(s)
  6. Set target lead count
  7. Save

Territory Features:

  • Visual boundaries on map
  • Color-coded by assignee
  • Coverage percentage tracked
  • Completion status
  • Overlapping territories allowed (if needed)

Territory Assignment

Assign to Members:

  1. Territory list
  2. Click territory
  3. "Assign Members"
  4. Select member(s)
  5. Set primary (if multiple)
  6. Save

Auto-Assignment:

  • System suggests based on location
  • Based on past performance
  • Based on current workload
  • Accept or modify

Territory Swaps:

  • Members request swap
  • Admin approves
  • Territories reassigned
  • Stats preserved

Team Goals

Setting Team Goals

Goal Types:

  • Lead Volume - Capture X leads this week/month
  • Territory Coverage - Complete X% of territory

  • Consistency - Team maintains X-day streak
  • Competition - Reach top 3 on leaderboard

Creating Goals:

  1. Team → Goals
  2. "Create Goal"
  3. Select goal type
  4. Set target number
  5. Set deadline
  6. Add reward (optional)
  7. Save

Goal Tracking:

  • Progress bar on dashboard
  • Individual contributions visible
  • Notifications at milestones (25%, 50%, 75%, 100%)

Troubleshooting

Can't See Team Leads

Symptoms: Team members' leads not visible

Solutions:

  1. Check permissions

    • Lead sharing must be enabled
    • Member must have shared lead
    • Your role may not have access
  2. Map filters

    • "Show team leads" enabled?
    • Check color coding
    • Zoom to correct area
  3. Sync issues

    • Refresh page

Team Chat Not Working

Symptoms: Can't send/receive messages
